Tonight- From Charmie Gholson:

The St. Clair County prosecutor’s office has dropped an appeal of dismissed criminal charges against soccer mom and registered medical marihuana patient Gin Hency. Hency, her husband and four children arrived at the courthouse Wednesday morning to the news that the prosecutor is no longer pursing criminal or civil charges against her.

“Obviously we're thrilled charges have been dismissed.,” said Michigan Moms United Founder Charmie Gholson. “We hope reporters will continue reporting on progress in Gin's case until we see it's logical conclusion. We urge Prosecutor Amy Stover, who said in the courtroom yesterday, “We are dismissing this appeal case in the interest of justice,” to actively institute reforms in policy and ensure families like the Hency's are kept out of her court room, just like the voters intended.”

“Gin Hency's case doesn't end with the prosecutor publicly celebrating the dismissal of five medical marihuana cases. It ends when these families receive their property, and we've ensured these governmental abuses are stopped.

In the further pursuit of justice, Michigan Moms United calls for the St. Clair Prosecutors office to likewise dismiss all medical marijuana cases before the court at this time, and provide a reasonable model of protection for state registry participants.
