Average Wait Time On New Card For New Caregiver?

I just received a notice in the mail that one of my patients dropped me. This is from a close friend that has said nothing to me about dropping me.

My question is, how long is the average wait time to get that notice? I am only asking because of personal reasons to try and figure out when that patient sent in the paperwork.

no worries though, the "patient dropped me letter" states you have fifteen days from the date listed to conform. This is plenty of time to register another patient and avoid culling plants/clones for count compliancy, or to clean up garden extra's for the reduction.

I've waited 10 days for the letter to come, and even 24 days

I'm currently switching all my wife's patients over to me after having my growing felony set aside a few months ago. Took an act of the legislature to get it done but I did and just received my first CG card today. forms were accepted by the state on Monday July 20th, so exactly 21 days to get my CG card. My wife has not received her notice of being dropped however.

LARA cashed my caregiver background check on Aug. 27, 2014. Here it is Oct 9, 2015 and still no card!

FWIW.... my renewal (due Sep 1) took five weeks from check being cashed give or take a day or two. The change form to add a new patient is another story. Change form check was cashed on Sep. 3. I still have not received the CG card.

I called at five weeks and was told change forms have less of a priority than new/renewal apps, and that to give it a "full six weeks".

Yesterday, I was browsing through The Provisioning Center's web site www.theprovisioningcenter.net and saw a Facebbok posting by Sue Bond, para legal, and that she wanted feedback from PTs and CGs about their experiences with LARA. I shared my story with Sue via FB and received the following reply from LARA!

"Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA)

October 8 at 12:46pm

************, can you send us a private message? If so, we have some information to share with you regarding your renewal application. The MMMP apologizes for any inconvenience. With the change form, there isn't a statutory time frame for processing the forms. The Medical Marihuana Act requires that the MMMP approve or deny an application within 15 business days of the date the application is received. Once an application is approved, the Act requires the Program issue a registry card within 5 business days of the date the application was approved. As a result, applications are given a higher priority than change forms. For the last 5 months, the Program has received, on average, 500-600 applications per day and issued more than 10,000 registry cards each month. While complying with the statutory time frame for processing applications is the Program's top priority, the MMMP is working diligently to reduce backlogs with the change forms."

I called LARA yesterday referencing the FB post and was told that my change form - adding a new pt - was approved and the pt is assigned to me. I was also told it would be another "7-10 days" until I receive the card.

Why on earth with a balance of approx. $24M in LARA's budget can't they hire more people and do their jobs in an efficient and effective way? Oh, I forgot, this is "MI State Govt." we're talking about!

PS- those of you who follow the numbers. Do the above numbers make sense? 10,000 new patients each month?!

This was a renewal application! Called LARA today to learn that as of today this person still isn't my patient, but they cashed my check on Aug 27, 2015. All they could tell me is that if something is wrong with the patients paperwork I'll have to send in another $25.00 check for a background fee again. They're so stupid!!

Kingdiamond have you had experience with this? I have all the paperwork for my patient as he wants me to resend it. I called LARA again and spoke with another person who said again I have to send in another caregiver processing fee/background check. I don't know what to do. All I know is that I want to get this right and over with. I don't think it's fair to have to send in another check in to them.
