the guy who ran godfather pizza was at the top of the R list. remember?

it didnt make sense to anyone either just like ben carson being at the top of the list now.

repubs arent going to vote for a black prez. this is just a candidate to say "hey , we arent racist, look ! black guy!". of course in 2 months he will not be running even.

maybe i am too much of a jerk, this is just what it looks like to me. i'm cynical.

I called bush v. clinton while I was fishing ice last winter, my father-in-law (Republican conservative) said no way Jeb hasn't even decided if he's running yet...  I'd love to be wrong, we're not supposed to have an oligarchy in the U.S. So far none of the working class (R's) I've talked to want another Bush in the White House, and I've spoken with quite a few.

I kinda wonder if the republicans really do want a black guy as their nominee.  Republicans are realizing that they have pretty much lost the black and Latino vote.  The Pew research center expects that, by 2050, over half of the US population will be either black or Latino, and whites will be the minority.

While there is some controversy surrounding whether LBJ actually said this: "These Negroes, they're getting pretty uppity these days and that's a problem for us since they've got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference... I'll have them niggers voting Democratic for the next two hundred years." but this illustrates what the republicans are up against in the next generation if they are to remain a viable party.

If the republican party is to survive in the next generation, they are going to have to win lots of black and Latino votes.  In BO's first presidential election, we saw a black voter turnout like never before, and it is reasonable to assume that many blacks voted for BO simply based on the color of his skin.  My guess is that a lot of black folks will vote based on color rather than political party. That puts the republicans in a real quandary.  Let's face it, many people who vote don't even think about policy - case in point Donald Trump.  It's like voting for homecoming queen...the most popular person usually wins.  I can't understand why Donald is as popular as he is....take the example of a recent speech where a member of the audience complained about Muslims in the US, and Trump replied, "We're going to be looking at a lot of different things. You know, a lot of people are saying that and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening, we're going to be looking at that and many other things."  Bleh.  This response was a non-response, simply Donald pandering to the ignorant masses who are the base of his support and latch-onto rhetoric instead of sound policy.

I remember watching the town hall meeting with McCain when the old lady bashed BO as an "arab" and McCain took the microphone from her and said, "No ma'am, he's a decent family man, citizen, that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues."

I don't think I've ever voted for a republican for any office, but this sort of display of class is what might allow me to feel good about casting a ballot for a republican.  McCain is a class act.  Too bad he allowed Sara Palin (another reality show actor like Trump) to ride on his ticket.  If not for Palin, I might have actually voted for McCain.

Heh, if Trump really wants to further his circus act, he'll appoint Palin as his running mate.

Yes!  I don't care if Hillary or Jeb came down to earth as the seconding-coming of Christ.  No way would I support a third Bush or second Clinton in  the White House, just on principal.  The Bush family has enjoyed enough political fame.  And while I kinda identify with Hillary, I think its a shame that she was able to move to NY and suddenly get elected as a Senator.  What were the people in NY thinking?

And further, I think it is silly that Jeb is saying that his brother kept us safe.  WTF?  3,000+ people died on GB II's watch.  GB II had 8 months in office before 9/11.  I don't blame him for the 9/11 attacks, but he certainly didn't keep us safe.

Yea.  He didn't keep us safe.

Heck the month after 9/11 we had the anthrax attacks too. I still think that scared people more than 9/11 back then.  Terrorism came to peoples front door and people freaked out. Putting gloves on to check their mail. Buying duct tape and plastic etc.

Then he sent thousands of soldiers to die in Iraq and tens of thousands to Iraq who were injured.  Refugees poured into Syria thus creating the nightmare we are currently dealing with. There are still decades of unintended consequences and dangers to face because of that flawed decision.

Safe?  I do not think so.

just imagine how things would be if the eviler of the two were voted in by the majority then.
voting for the lesser of the two evil doesn't seem to be working out in my lifetime, but everyone still plays the same game regardless, year after year after year.

I'm betting nothing will ever change, until we do.

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

Heh, yeah. My older brother is an electrician at the GM truck plant in Flint. During the anthrax scare, some practical joker put some white powder. (I think baby backside powder) in an envelop under the windshield wiper of a finished truck. The truck plant went into lock-down mode and called in a hazmat team, and production was shut down for about a half day. This costed GM a few $ million in lost production.

911 happened on Bushs watch.  BTW where was Cheney at the time/  Inquiring minds would like some clarification

8 congressional investigations into Benghazi and only 1 on 911.  3000 families and tens of thousands affected on US soil and only 1 investigation?

the fknrepublicans sure like to waste our tax money on their political agenda. Years  of unproductive hearings and investigations and millions of dollars  wasted on Lewinsky and  Benghazi.

All a distraction from the true problem....the GOP

It happened on your watch Commander in Chief.  Own it

BTW   Great Job Bernie......Gonna Bern one right now.
