Sanders Says He'd Remove Marijuana From Federal Drug List

Recommended Posts

You know, I live in a sea of fknrepublicans, I converse with them daily. But i have yet to find a republican who has watched the GOP debates. They seem to wait for rusty limp balls to Mansplain it to them.

Of course that doesn't stop them from complaining about them or somehow injecting Benghazi or the Clinton emails.

I would encourage All republicans to watch, you might be surprised and shocked.

If it wasn't so important to the future of the country it would be hilarious!

The GOP debates is the most unrealistic reality show on.

Half an hour into Wednesday’s Republican presidential debate, Sen. Ted Cruz exploded at the CNBC moderators. “The questions that have been asked so far in this debate illustrate why the American people don’t trust the media,” Cruz fumed. “You look at the questions: ‘Donald Trump, are you a comic-book villain?’ ‘Ben Carson, can you do math?’ ‘John Kasich, will you insult two people over here?’ ‘Marco Rubio, why don't you resign?’ ‘Jeb Bush, why have your numbers fallen?’

That wasn't asked by the media, it was asked by Jeb. These guys can't even keep things straight for a half an hour.

i give cruz one point because some of the moderators questions had a little bit of snarky crap in them.

but i remove a point because hes a whiney turd. all debates have bad questions, just gotta deal with it mr man.

i actually like some of this debate questions in this one, high quality stuff. i'm sad that some of the questions went unanswered.

cramer had some great questions that got ignored. the financial questions got ignored so hard.

points go to kasich for sounding kind of reasonable. and trump actually answers questions directly unlike most everyone else. rand paul is nice and clear, i actually agreed with chris christie twice! huckabee, rubio and carson can just quit already.

how was the democratic debate with hillary and bern? i didnt watch that one, worth watching?

http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/barack-obama/obama-if-gop-candidates-cant-handle-cnbc-how-will-they-n456251   Video at link

President Barack Obama lampooned the GOP's presidential candidates Monday, saying that their grumbling about last week's debate signaled their likely ineffectiveness on the world stage.

"Every one of these candidates says, 'Obama's weak, Putin's kicking sand in his face. When I talk to Putin, he's going to straighten out,'" Obama said during a democratic fundraiser in New York City.

"And then it turns out, they can't handle a bunch of CNBC moderators," he said. "If you can't handle those guys, I don't think the Chinese and the Russians are going to be too worried about you."

Obama's comments came three days after the Republican National Committee canceled the next GOP debate, which was to be moderated by NBC News and Telemundo, and one day after an unprecedented Republican huddle during which the campaigns began negotiating new debate rules going forward.

"i voted for obama in 2012 and i stand by that vote. did you vote for the prohibitionist i ,m election gregrx .,

T you give the republicans too much credit.

Republicans don't have answers.

After witnessing the klusterfock that is the GOP debates it is apparent these bozo's (the best and brightest of the GOP and my appologies to Bozo) can't even run a debate much less a country.

They can't even answer a few questions from a moderator, why would anyone think they are capable of negotiating with Putin or china.

There isn't a particle of presidential matter between the whole lot of them.

you just wrote word for word what obama said about the last debate!

wow it is nice to know you watch the news!  and do your own clear thinking :bong2:

We have to defeat Hillary at the primary then. I'm on board with that. I figure I owe Bernie a solid now after he came out on our side.

Dude i wish trump was only making a mockery.  He leads in the repub polls.  He is the GOP incarnate!

Seriously the average republican voter suffers from information deficiency.  The cure is weening off missinformation stations like rush, faux news , and whats his name ,,Coulter

Sounds like you may be in recovery my friend.

In the meantime its Bernie Sanders

FWIW in a bong poll of 154 patients and caregivers registers to vote....136 Bernie, 10 Hillary, 8 undecided

It would be doubly awesome if Bernie could just point out the bad parts about quasi legalization and how people who enjoy cannabis should have a choice whether or not to support the money interests, buying at a pot store, and shouldn't be held accountable to pay off the national debt or fix this country's roads. I didn't really like it when Jimmy made that joke about us paying off the national debt. It's not funny.

He wasn’t blowing smoke after all.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders introduced a bill in the Senate on Wednesday that would rescind all federal penalties for growing or possessing marijuana — allowing states to determine their own laws.

If successful, the Democratic presidential candidate’s Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2015 would remove all references to cannabis in the Controlled Substances Act.

There would still be penalties for transporting the plant from states or jurisdictions that have legalized it to places that have not.

Last month, the self-identified Democratic Socialist became the first presidential candidate from a major U.S. political party to speak out in favor of legalizing and regulating recreational pot use by adults.

Recreational marijuana is currently legal in Washington state, Oregon, Alaska, Colorado and Washington, D.C., but is still illegal under federal law.

The Marijuana Policy Project (MPP), a nonprofit dedicated to marijuana reform, noted that this is the first bill proposing the eradication of marijuana prohibition at the federal level introduced in the Senate; it is also the fourth marijuana policy-reform bill.

This year, Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., Sen. Kirstin Gillibrand, D-N.Y., and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., introduced the Compassionate Access, Research Expansion, and Respect States Act of 2015, which would allow states to legalize medical marijuana without federal interference. Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., also introduced bills that would deal with the tax status of marijuana businesses and ensure they have access to banking services.

Mason Tvert, director of communications for MPP, said that Sanders’ actions are speaking even louder than his words last month, and he hopes that it will lead his colleagues in Congress to discuss the need for policy reform surrounding pot.

“The science is clear that marijuana is less harmful than alcohol, and that should be reflected in our nation’s marijuana policy,” he said in a news release. “Sen. Sanders is simply proposing that we treat marijuana similarly to how we treat alcohol at the federal level, leaving most of the details to the states. It is a common sense proposal that is long overdue in the Senate.”

Businesspeople in the nascent marijuana industry were quick to speak out in support of the legislation.

Leslie Bocskor, a managing partner of Electrum Partners, a consulting firm specializing in the medical marijuana industry, said in a statement that removing marijuana from the federal government’s list of banned substances will alleviate several unwanted byproducts of the U.S. war on drugs:

“This includes reducing our rate of incarceration for nonviolent offenders, addressing racial injustice enabled by the criminalization of marijuana, not to mention increased tax revenue, a regulated marketplace keeping marijuana out of the hands of children, job creation, the destruction of criminal cartels by removing their revenue streams and keeping wealth in the communities that have established regulated frameworks.”

I wonder why  i do not know anyone that supports Hillary  everyone i know supports Sanders,  Why does the Media keep saying Hillary Hillary  Hillary  Trmp

The media will sell themselves to  anyone with deep pockets so Hillary and the GOP corner the market.

Net result, No Face time for the Next President of the United States Bernie Sanders

The Joke is on those deep pockets though because  as we have witnessed in Ohio,  deep pockets got nothing on the Will of the People.
