Bernie Sanders Probably Isn't Running For President To Win

Have you heard of the Overton Window? Basically, it represents the range of ideas that the public will accept as reasonable. The Overton window is frequently manipulated by powerful forces like wealthy media moguls (e.g. Rupert Murdoch), organized movements (e.g. Operation Rescue), or manufactured indoctrination (e.g. the cult of Ronald Reagan).

In the United States, the Overton window has been pushed by powerful, wealthy and conservative (racist, theocratic and war profiteering) individuals to the far right since 1980 following a movement by conservatives that is detailed in the book, Suburban Warriors by Lisa McGirr.

Starting in Orange County, California, and peppered throughout the U.S., conservative Americans met in churches, homes, and restaurant basements from the 1960s on to plan how the country could be moved back to the far conservative right, after having a period of liberalism brought on by the Supreme Court in the wake of the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling. They were also still angry from the passage of the New Deal. The rise of right wing politicians like Ronald Reagan from California were a product of this movement.

The right wing movement included a four-pronged approach. First, they scared people with the menace of socialism and communism, beginning at the end of World War II and lasting over 45 years, until it became unsustainable after the breakup of the Soviet Union. Second, they presented the mass migration of African Americans from the South during the 1950s and 1960s as a source of threat to white people. Then, with the arrival of Reagan in the White House, the right wing began to dismantle corporate capitalism, morphing it into the financial capitalism we're suffering under now. Last, they courted the evangelical population by fanning the flames of social issues like abortion, welfare and gay rights.

Bernie Sanders's role is to push Clinton to the left. To push her to actually serve the people. Otherwise, she more than likely will not

Bernie Sanders has been doing the same thing forever. He's been saying the same things. Very consistent.

So he's been a sleeper politician for decades just to set up this election? Or, does what he has been doing all along just fit so good that they picked him for this job?

This idea is pretty squirrelly when you consider that Bernie has walked the walk longer than anyone else even close to running. So he has to be fake? Squirrelly when you drill down on it. He's probably the only real one. Following the same path consistently for decades.

Bernie Sanders Probably Isn't Running For President To Win

Of course he isn't. He is running to continue to repair a nation devastated by greedy republcan politicians and their corporate accomplices'. He is running to prevent the return of failed GOP policies. He is running because he is the Right Man at the Right Time

This guy is the Real Deal, The Genuine Article, Kryptonite to the GOP Thats why you rarely hear about him on fox.

Bernie Sanders is our Man, he's the anti- republican

unfortunatly as history shows, the dems have'nt held power of the presidency more than 8 yrs! history has shown that repubs hold office for 12 yrs and than dems get it for 8.

Im not saying history has to keep repeating, but if sanders cant beat hillery in the primarys, we will be gettting the repub who wins the primarys, or for the first time in my voting yrs we could get an independent!

I am so on the fence, and it realy has nothing to do with dem or repub,,,,,I dont beleive campaign promises but I sure wish I could!

Peace

Well, you must have gone to public school... :butt2:

Anyhow, Tenure by party in order; and honestly, the Republican and Democratic parties are so different today than they were just 60 years ago even, it can be hard to compare:

FDR and Truman(Democratic party) - 20 years

Eisenhower(Republican Party) - 8 years

Kennedy and Johnson(democratic party) - 8 years

Nixon and Ford(republican party) - 8 years

Carter(Democratic Party) - 4 years

Reagan and Bush(republican party) - 12 years

Clinton(Democratic Party) - 8 years

Bush(republican party) - 8 years

Obama(Democratic Party) - 8 years

So generally, in the last 84 years-

Democratic 48 years

Republican 36 years

If ya go  back to Woodrow Wilson it would be:

Democratic 56 years

Republican 48 years

 So I dunno.

I see another 20 year run for the democratic party right now. The republicans are a hot mess.

And this is staring us all right in the face;

Anyone, or entity, that comes out and says that Bernie is just there to get Hillary elected is working for the Republican Machine. Whether they are dumb enough to do it unknowingly is the only question.

We can cut right through the horseshit and go straight for the truth because we are very aware and not going to be hoodwinked by childish spin tactics to derail Bernie. No tricks are going to work here. Just keep it real. If you through up BS propaganda you will wear it like a hat. LOL A hat of horseshit.

There's no down side to staying positive about Bernie. Apathy will make the negative view always true. A lot can happen between now and March. Bernie could EASILY become the (D) candidate. And then anything could happen to the ®. Bernie has at least a 50 50 chance right now.

Right On

Dunno but the vibe is similar to that of Obama 2007.in the lead up to what was suppose to be the Hillary corrination in 2008.

I see strong support for Bernie Sanders for the primary and an even stronger sense of national unity for the dem nomination, whoever that may be. Nice to have a qualified field of candidates to choose from.

Trump..Make America Hate Again

is hillary doing anything different than in 2008? shes going to lose in the primaries again at this rate. obama won against her because of her record, the same record she has today (plus benghazi).

sanders is going to win because of her record AGAIN. she got "fooled by bush" in the run up to the war. thats why obama won.

i'm just going to say it, she has a better chance of running as a republican. probably she could beat sanders as a republican too. i dont think she could beat trump in a primary though.

then trump/bernie 2016 (i mean bernie pres and trump vp) prophecy completes.

Not sure how he is polling in hello but he is breaking out in the US polls

Friend, think back about all the times the cartels and republicans threatened us with their deep pockets. The issue 3 Vote demonstrated clearly that $$$ got notta on the Will of the People. They spent 40 million to monopolize our weed but WE the People turned out en masse to reject their greed.

Never say never! They said there would never be a catholic president , they said there would never be a black president, they said there would never be a woman president....All in my lifetime

Bernie Sanders will win the Michigan primary. He is one of US
