A Business To Avoid

Recommended Posts

Not sure if anyone else has ever had some issues with internet supply folk, but I figured that I'd toss up a quick personal review on the lack of professionalism displayed by a recent seller and a purchase.

I'm unfamiliar as to if anyone here has ordered from TheGlassUnderground in Eugene OR, for well, glass supplies, however, I'd really suggest if you're looking there you look somewhere else. There are a couple of issues I had with this place, but I'm only going to get into the few important ones.

I'm a very, very punctual person. I got my fill of the hurry up and wait game in the military, however, when you take TWO WEEKS to ship a product that is claimed to be in stock, but take the consumers money on day one and it takes that customer getting ahold of you to remind you to ship your product, you have a professionalism issue.

Second issue, and the more important one here in my opinion- The quality of the glass is terrible. I'm not sure that its' rigidity would hold to the pressures of concentrate production. This is a big, big problem for me, I'm a big stickler for safety and the like, and having an extraction tube that might as well be used as an over sized chillum because of how shoddily done the thickness on your glass is, is a really big turn away for me.

I'm sure that the guy tried, I really am, but in the big boy world where people are suppose to wear their big boy pants and take care of their business's like adults, he needs to get his act together.

As a business, I'd give this place a 1/5 stars.

I'm sorry to read about your bad experience. Being self-employed for 20+ years, one thing I've learned is that you are only as good as your last mistake. Another thing I learned is that mistakes sometimes give you an opportunity to correct the mistake and make the client even happier than they would have been with a perfect transaction. Mistakes give a business an opportunity to over-deliver.

Some of my best clients are people who I made mistakes with and then corrected the problem, with freebies, maybe a restaurant gift card or two. Most people understand that mistakes happen and expect mistakes from time to time. It's how you deal with the mistake/make it right that matters in the end.

A few years ago I gave a patient a ride to an MMJ clinic. The girls on staff displayed some serious unprofessional behavior. I posted this experience on the MMMA. Dr Bob contacted me and said that it was probably in poor taste for me to post this experience without first addressing the issue with the Doc. He also said that he knows this Doc personally and could have intervened to help correct the issue, as the Doc was a solid guy and deserved a chance to correct the problem before it hit the web.

That said, I'm still wondering why Dr. Bob can't post here anymore. I know he had some serious debates with Greg S. I have never met GregS but I like him, despite some negative communications we had in the past.

Straying a bit further from the topic, why can't peanut butter post anymore either? I've disagreed with a lot of his posts, most notably the safety issues surrounding chemical extractions and claims of cures for cancer. Right or wrong PB was always willing to engage in debates.

But even if PB posted something waaay off-base (IMHO), there were always at least a handful of members here who'd try to steer the discussion in the right direction.

This sort of back-and-forth discussion lets the average internet user read everything and come to a conclusion that is best for each individual.

i pretty much agree

un-ban everyone who was not soliciting.  especially people like Dr Bob and Gersh(PeanutButter) who through all their past misguided behaviors they still have some very valuable information to share with the community.

debates are a healthy thing even around here when they get out of hand they are still a good way to get information to the masses.

and besides... if a topic gets to crazy its really simple for us to lock it or even disappear it from sight :)

That leaves out Gersh. LOL He was the Solicitor General. Although that wasn't even why he was banned here.

When you said I should be permanently banned because you were angry. I think you jumped the shark. Your ideas on banning are very selfish.

Tell the truth Resto, I never said "you should be permanently banned."  I've only ever been angry here when censored or banned incidentally, never at a posters avatar.

But, I do believe it to be so, at least sometimes, just as I should be, sometimes, but you, more often surely. potty mouth accusations of people using multiple id's, being a cop, etc is out of line and counter productive. If you stop those shenanigans I may allow you to survive the perma banhammer. Try the decaf mate! :P

imo the Rules on Posting need defined a bit more so that members, mods and admin all have a better handle on what

is considered soliciting, etc.  Define the rules, set up procedure when peeps don't follow the rules, ie... verbal, 3 day suspension.

temp ban of xx amount of time, then permanent ban or something along that line.

Possibly we could have the opening page display the Rules of Posting, or the page to register?  Read the rules and check

the box that says "agree?  idk but we all should know from the get what flies around here.

Same rules for everyone across the board.

I have indeed contacted the individual/business, I do not plan on continuing communicating with the business in the future. -Edit- When confronted with a problem, a merchant should not first blame time, blame possible materials used in production, and finish the endeavor with such a defensive stance as to suggest that the customer may (somehow?) be at fault for their product and lackluster service. The degree of how unprofessional this (second) interaction was, left me wanting to speak with what would surely have been a more level headed five year old.

In regards to solicitation, I do hope that by offering reviews on various things I wouldn't be breaking those rules, I just bought a Vac Chamber and such from Best Value and was planning on writing up something for that too once I got around to playing with it.
