Plant Decided It Wanted To Flower...

Still under 18-6 but was going to flip the lights within about a week or so till I figured out what to do with the plants of unknown sex. One of my plants decided to jump the gun; what were pre-flowers 2 days ago are now clearly much larger.

Is this unusual for a non-autoflowering strain?

Two others from the same seed. Will pull the other two out this evening and inspect more closely.

Can't even remember where  who I got the seeds from, they were stashed away for 4 years or so. Maybe it's an autoflowering seed? 60 days old today.

I think that plants should display sex when they have four nodes. 30 days or so. Some display sooner, others display later. Not unusual.

Yeah, but these have gotten much larger than preflowers.

Just checked the other two Burmese Kush (grown at the same time) and they are still just showing the preflowers.

Going to flip the lights tomorrow.

Whatever will be.

yep, that's what autoflowers do, they don't flower according to a light schedule

During my preps to flip I realized that there is a problem that needs fixing first . Ya see, it get's a bit warm in there. Not super hot, but ranges between 68 at night and up to 88 during day. Even got up to 90 yesterday. Realized that when I seal the side up - which is the only place left that light will leak - it's going to get hotter. I don't think that the 100 cfm inline exhaust fan (50 cfm) and passive intake at bottom edge is up to the task. Probably need to upgrade the exhaust fan and also make a better intake. Really thought I purchased the last of the equipment for this closet grow but I was mistaken. It's a bit of a hassle but it has to be done and gotta see what's available.

tpain is correct. but I add that those high temps of 90, and even of over 110, survival may depend upon all/some of the other necessary plant needs, like c02(fresh air), water, nutrients.  As the temps rise so do the needs=higher metabolism.  I saw 130 in my first cannabis greenhouse and flipped out, but no plant in there drooped or showed any signs of damage. That doesn't mean that some nutrient or another couldn't uptake or something, but at short intervals it didn't seem to matter to me.

88 is pushing it for a closet. you think you're done spending????  HA !!! welcome to the spend club!

thanks for documenting this grow

I too started in a closet, that had to become a tent, that had to become several tents, that had to run on 220, that had to have a ac unit and dehumidifier, that had to use several very expensive odor control devices to cover the house smell from that room, that had to be moved to a building outside of my house, that had to be built first, that had have a grow room from the pages of High Times in it, why not. then I had to change to dirt, then to octopots.   I've arrived....well, those expensive stink socks need a change out, and I have to figure out how to dispose of such a thing.  If I saw it on the road and didn't even know what it was I'd stop and take it.  scares me to dare the garbage or the sheeny man.  I weighed it new, then old....oh my...its full of goodies, and room dust too.   keep saving cash, you'll need it...tehe....

peace

Do you know any store owner's, or people who live in an apt, or some one that can take them used stink socks and dispose of them, I have a dump I can take them to.  Well I used to have a dump lol, I just moved no dump here lol!  but I know plenty of people who could put it in a dumpster for me!

When you grow you are never done spending $$ on better equip, nutes, fans, ballast's. bulbs, oh lord it never end's!

That is one of the main reasons I dont grow at this time, plus I have a c.g who most def grows better than I do,  He takes awsome care of me,  So for now and hopefully the future I wont have to grow for myself, I used to be my ex's c.g,  she still wants me to be, I told her no,,,find some one else or just use the despenses they have in gaylord and the surrounding area's,,,,,,,Im done giving her any kind of free ride,,,she didnt think of me or the kids when she gave up her future, now she made her decisions and I totaly can move on and not worry or care what happens to her,  she is 47 and can make her own decisions good or bad!

Peace

I wish I did Phaq. I only had to dispose of the big ones one other time, with care they last along time for me. I put those on top of a big bonfire and the coal inside burned like crazy, stunk real good too. next day they were shells....I had big idea but eventually just crushed them down and stuck them in a big garbage bag. waaay too much work for this chap today. They be sittin in the rafters with the other stuff I guess. I have 55 drums of "no speak" garbage stuff to dump. thought about renting a dumpster...but haven't done that yet. could go the county dump prolly....do they watch you dump, or inspect your stuff?

I had a Free Leonard male that went into full flower in week four of 18/6.  Very vigorous grower. Moved him into a bloom room with three cloned females in week four of 12/12 planning on seeds.  Nope, the mutant threw plenty of pollen (I even saved some),

but not a single seed.  I guess the mutant pollen was not viable.

wish i lived near you guys, i'd take any and all carbon air filter stuff and compost it.

thats BIOCHAR!!! one of the best things in the world for growing plants in, dont forget to "charge" it with compost and microbes first (or just mix in with compost pile is good enough).

they say it changes the flavor/smell of plants ever so slightly . so be on the lookout if you do use it.

Sad. Had some Free Leonard a while back. While it wasn't a psychedelic experience as some had claimed, it was some darn fine herb.

Well, 88-90 may be fine, but I was worried about what would happen once it was truly sealed. Plus I really wasn't happy with the exhaust fan air flow.

So I just sprung another 100 bucks on a 4" ventech with carbon filter and variable speed control.

I'm at $630 for this small time grow. At least I can draw some comfort into not having purchased designer nutes.

NO MORE MONEY - THAT'S IT. REALLY.

(yeah, right.)
