Reflectix Is Not Light Proof...

Recommended Posts

Made the front door of my bloom closet out of reflectix. Put two pieces together with a tarp zipper. Another piece folds over from the right to cover the open edge at right and closes with velcro.

Knew I'd have to do something about the light leaking at zipper. But then I also found that the reflectix is not 100% opaque; it isn't really noticeable unless you look closely through a strong light, but the silvery coating is slightly rub-offable and then lets a little light in.

(I cover the reflectix front at night with a piece of scrap linoleum (velcro keeps it on) and then the bi-fold door closes over it as well. Veg chamber at right is what it needs most protecting from anyway...)

Next time I'll use Panda film but just thought I'd let people know about this.
