This Will Be A Log Of Detroit's Water Ph. Due To The Water From My Tap Having Varied

from 3.9 to 14.3 in the last year, I have decided to record random readings when I'm pissed at having to spend for PH UP and PH DOWN.  Today  i'm I'm feeling frustragated by the swings in readings and the stupid spending $ represented by the big black garbage bag of empty gallon bottles I trashed today.

Course, water off the grow house roof is always neutral, not needing any adjustment.  I should be using multiple 55-gallon drums or 275-gallon steel caged totes at the down spouts to catch the always 7.0 or 6.99 PH rain.

Today my tap readings were 8.7 and later 7.5...

i stopped drinking that awful white fluid a couple years ago.. (prior to that i was 2% or more often skim... as a child we drank whole milk or powdered milk depending on what time of the month it was)

milk does the body good....

yeah..      if your a baby COW !

we are not bovine.

we as human beings do NOT need anything that comes from a cow's breast milk in our body...

do you have furry ears and a tail?

everything in bovine breast milk is intended to ensure a baby cow gets as fat as possible in the first 6 months of it's life... DNA and genetics ensure that a species milk is to provide nourishment for that species.. which other animals on our planet do you know of that harvest another animals breast milk to consume for nourishment?

also remember if your a male at or over the age of 40 you should begin significantly diminishing the amount of calcium you take in...

do you still need to calibrate your ph meter ever? I have a bottle each of ph up, ph down, calibration and storage, all more than 10 years old. I replaced my ph meter a few years ago only to use it once to make sure it works. I have no need for any of it anymore, including the tds meter.

The dude at my local shop told me i should check it about every 6 months to ensure its still reading right. Mine has been sitting in the garage going threw the warm and cold days i would like to check and see if its still reading correct.

could try the milk test in a pinch, let me know what you find.... I'm going to check the ph of milk soon, for kicks.

I always had a roll of ph paper for questions, but in three years running intense hydro, checking ph manually daily to compare to the auto checker and the paper ....my stupid cheap pen was never out of whack, according to the cal fluid and my reservoir experience. not sure what messes them up, maybe poor storage practices, a bump.

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm still wondering how PICBOOK can achieve a pH of 14.3 when the pH scale stops at 14?  If you had water with a pH of 14 coming through your pipes, I reckon you wouldn't have pipes left....

Sodium hydroxide has a pH of 12 and is EXTREMELY caustic.    It will burn your skin right off, yet picook has H2O that is more caustic than this?????
