I read people polled recently would be more likely to vote for a self described Muslim than a self described Socialist for American president.

I've seen Sanders boldly describe himself as a Socialist.  I think all these "names" and some stereotypes associated with them are

going to disappear one day soon.

I think cannabis users may resonate with the socialist menu. In my life experience I would say they have been more socialist acting than capitalist acting for instance and nary a dictator appeared.

 

  I'd like to hear a candidate speak of the many in prisons for non violent cannabis offenses, perhaps consideration of freeing these political prisoners is due NOW.

I find it SO interesting that no one is talking about the Jewish angle. I mean, the first Jewish president? It would be as historic as the first female president. But would the masses vote for a Jew? (They said the same about voting for a Black candidate.)

I heard a new theory on Donald Trump last night from a rabid supporter: that Trump is not really serious about building a wall or deporting all the illegal immigrants or preventing Muslims from entering the US, but instead is simply a deal maker, and is setting up his initial bargaining position, with the intent for the real plan to become less fascist and more realistic.

 

Of course, the person was also referring to President Obama as the n-word, etc., so it is hard for me to say whether or not this is reliable info.

Sounds just like law enforcement when they lie on the court documents that get into the press. These folks that like that should have the tables turned on them and see how they like it when they are discriminated against with total BS just to get them softened up. But they are not black or women or hispanic or Chinese or Japanese or gay, so they are safe. Just use it on everyone else and it's just peachy. 

 

I can't believe anyone stands up for Trump. They must have no concept of the double edged sword.

I have yet to find any repubs who watch the debates.

 

They Can't Handle the Truth.

Actually that is very likely. Build the wall, yes. Make Mexico pay for it, negotiable.  No amnesty, yes, forcibly deport millions, negotiable.

Since trading first started on a muddy path along a perimeter wall in the Dutch settlement of New Amersterdam, the NYC real estate market has not been for those whose sensibilities are easily offended.

 

Trump was born into and grew up there. It is the only world he knows. He takes it with him everywhere. It is not about the money. It is about the competition; money is only the means to keep score.

 

Trump is a showman and an actor who specializes in leveraging other people's money with debt using his own persona as collateral. Sort of like getting someone to give you the downpayment that a lender requires to finance a car and using your name and not the car as security.

 

Personally this whole presidential election thing is really overblown. Politics for the individual voter is like the weather. Not much a person can do about it except try to stay warm and dry.

 

Trump, like Bernie has pulled back the curtain the wizards of DC have hidden behind. Trump's latest tiff with the Pope is typical. Pope says Trump isn't a Christian. Trump says the Pope is a disgrace.

 

I think they are both right. Or at least wrong for the right reasons.
