Uh, Oh, Did This Hermie On Me?

Recommended Posts

I had this happen due to stress (I think lol).  At 1st. it was just one and I clipped it off.

The next day more.. then more.  I chopped it and it looked more like potpourri in the

jar w/ all those little yellow flowers haha.

I am still a newb but am now 100% certain what them nanners look like :)

Oh.. and it smoked just fine given it was taken early and all that.

Good luck zackw.

Thanks. All in all, I'm more than pleased with the whole process considering my source material. Now I can cull the clones without feeling guilty and make room for some new genetics (going to just buy a few clones next rather than seed.)

what are the other tests for plants grassmatch?

theres ph, ppm, light meter, co2 meter, brix.

theres an electro conductivity test.

theres a soil dampness test. usually its just a stick with some notches.

what other tests are there? anybody got the full list of tests?

i swear theres a test about the color of the leaves but i cant remember.

soil and water tests, of course.

dissolved oxygen meter for water.

Getting back to the hermies, so far just one or two male parts & they're always on the lowest branch, been picking them off. I know things can be hiding inside, but nothing suggests any serious problem at this point. Lookin' juicy! (Day 37 in the bloom room).

great job!

i do not think light depredation will cause a hermi to form however i know for a fact that a light leak during sleep time will for certain trigger the nanners..

even an LED light on a power strip or an air conditioner control panel can cause a plant to hermi if it is sensitive to that already.

i let my very favorite plant "strawberry cough" go a couple years back because of her crazy persistant need to throw nanners at any sign of stress.. i sure wish i knew about reverse then..

you will get really good at spotting them if you keep the genetics..

the seeds can form at any time in the flower room but like mentioned above..if pollination occurs late in the flower the seeds will be abundant however unformed and immature...

use reverse as directed according to Grassmatch or cull the strain and start over.

your seeds may or may not have been "bag seeds" typically "bag seeds" are not all bad...the seeds that will tend to hermi most often are seeds that have been purposefully feminized... this process of guaranteeing a female plant stresses the genetics and can often lead to hermaphrodite(hermi-nanner) issues.

by the way... if you find a single seed in a plant that was not near any males..

KEEP it.. its most likely naturally feminized and will most often produce a female.
