Alien Trichome Fingers

Just trying to figure out how to best take photos through my microscope.

 

Here are some trichomes on a plant 40 days in bloom. No mushroom heads yet. But they DO look like fingers complete with nails!

Interesting pic in the midst of blooming, so as the resin is formed it travels up the stalk to bulb out on the end?

The photo is at 400x using a budget microscope (AmScope 40X-2000X, $250) and was taken with a phone camera through the eyepiece. (Worked better than my camera!) Also fun to look at pollen from one of my naner's.

 

For best results, it really needs to be stained using Fast Blue or Tetrazolium Red, neither of which I have.
