Ran Out Of Ballots ?

Recommended Posts

where did you experience this?

I would have thought that having a dem and repub card for every voter on the list would have been par.

what happens to all those dem votes turned away? was it just demo cards running short, or repubs too?

conspiracy? could work well in the future, I bet their paying attention to our dismay and solutions.

MASON - Election officials in Ingham County were forced to improvise after running short of ballots in Tuesday's elections, officials said.

Municipal clerks were photocopying ballot forms to cope with a shortage caused by an unexpectedly large voter turnout, Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum said early Tuesday evening

Several townships here had less than 10 ballots left. Most precincts reported 40-50 percent increase in voter turnout. Some set a record.

The General Election Will see the Largest Tunout EVER.

Grass: Running out of ballots sure does make clerk look bad!

No excuse for waiting over 30 minutes for extra ballots. Workers should have notified clerk when supplies started to get low. Poor communication IMO.

imagine the dismay of those who aren't happy with the results. people went home without voting, or chose to vote republican while they were there maybe. I didn't like the segregation right at the door either..."repubs to the right, demo's to the left"

so many voting fiascos in my time.....I bet its always been that way, rascals at the helm no matter the vote

Really? Repubs in different line than dems? That was totally wrong!

When filing out the applications, it ask to select a party. The person at computer and person handing out the ballot are only ones who should have any idea of what party you voted. Then they are so busy, they probably are not paying any attention anyway.

Inspectors were directed to not mention which ballot was being handed out. Someone failing in their duty.

Where did they segregate the voters?

File a complaint with the Bureau of Elections.

Happened at my place as well, also for the dem ballot, lady said the highest turnout in 8yrs, but i was something like 270 at the one box (they had two drop boxes) at a little after 6pm. Apparently they had to do two runs to get more dem ballots during the day, sending those dem voters home to come back, some of the which found there still being no dem ballots on the second trip. I can only imagine the sos is a repub, not like all sorts of games get played at voting centers every year, near everywhere, by both parties. Place was near empty when i was there, three others were voting, and they had like 7 staffers there, maybe 8. Maybe it was in my head, but the knowledgeable lady at the counter i was speaking w was all sorts of nice, then i asked for dem ballot, she just kind of looked down at the table, then back up at me, then didnt say another word. And the two ladies at the collection box clearly tried to sneak a peek over my arm at my selection too.

How many ballots does a democrat need to choose one  president?  jk

maybe they kept  messing up the little black line, undecided, scrapped ballots :dodgyrun:

repubs voting boots on the right, dems on the left. soon as the paper was handed, repubs to the right, dems to the left.

Wow!

Inspectors should not have even called out which ballot that you received. Did they have two voting machine that ballot was put into? One for rep and one for dem?

I worked the election and we only had one duplicated ballot all day. (1700 voters)

It is up to local clerk to set up the precinct and for some odd reason they separated the voters.

The sos oversee's the elections, but has nothing to do with how the city/township sets up their precincts. County clerk oversee's the cities/townships and it is up to local clerk to order ballot. Also to deliver ballots to the precincts.

Sounds like the clerk had extra ballots at city hall and didn't deliver to precincts before they ran out of ballots.

So the blame falls on local city, rep or dem.

Heard that a couple cities had to make copies of a ballot and re-number the sheets.  This process takes a lot of time at end of night.

When you deposited ballot into the machine, inspectors should have been minimum of 10 feet away. (for privacy)
