New Application Question

the thinking is, if you dont use the correct addy + name as govt says, when you send it to the govt with 'mmmp' instead of 'michigan medical marihuana program' then someone at mich gov could open it - if they are in another dept , and thus the 15 day rule wouldnt apply.

 

e.g. the post office workers were practicing law without a license. merely their opinion. much like we here in the forum give advice.

They do that anyway even if everything is spelled out to the letter. All you can do is show you did your best to get it there. 

 

I was talking about abbreviating the return receipt, not the envelope.

registration validation is a phone call away. LARA has been happy to answer every question I've given them. Including "did you receive my application yet, have you approved it, and did you mail out the card yet?  They haven't ever told me an application was approved before 15 days of receipt but they have told me I was registered and entered into the computer, card will be on its way(sometimes months, sometimes weeks later)

 

I would not plant 12 more plants on behalf of a patient without a card in hand. 15 day wait/paperwork/verbal confirm....no matter.

I've never seen any "MMP" stamp on letters coming from LARA or (previously) MDCH.

 

My own patient card and CG cards arrive in an envelop that is not in any way different from the envelop that contains my recert for my asbestos inspector's license or my lead paint inspector card.

 

I used to use a PO box for all things MMP.  I've gotten more comfortable in the last year or so and gave-up the PO Box.

 

One of my patients is paranoid about family finding out about her participation in the MJ program.  At her last renewal, she used my street address for her mailing address.  Her card was sent to me, and I delivered it to her.  Easy-peezy.

No certified mail return receipt to prove when they received it? I know of one in the system right now that they received on Monday and the check still is not cashed 4 days later.

Yes,I have certified Mail receipt stamped 2/24 & check cashed image from bank stamped 3/4!

That seems a little slow. Since we have these two to compare we can judge if one or the other is getting stalled or not going through at the normal rate. Earlier this year I had one go through in two weeks. Seeing yours taking over a month makes it look like they may be going through at a slower rate now. I once had one take 4 months. They told me it was a glich.

When renewing last week I had two clerks at the post office debating whether it's a good idea to abbreviate Michigan Medical Marihuana Program to MMMP on the return receipt. They said that if you really want it official for court you should write it all out, not abbreviate it. The hopes of getting it done privately and quickly went right out the window. 

 

It dawned on me why so many people want to skip the step of sending the forms out certified mail. If they skipped that step they avoid talking with anyone about it at the counter. It's tempting but definitely a mistake to skip that step no matter how hard it is for you to go on up to the counter. 

I just did an adress change,  I filled the form out online, printed it, copied my new I D with adress change and a copy of my mm card, put a 10 buck check in and dropped it in the mail,  I forgot to get it return receipt, or copy my app for addy change, I guess I just had to much on my mind lol,,,,,I got renewed on like 12-6 this yr and had to do an addy change jan 1st lol!

My cannabis specialist did a renewal for me and filled out all the forms, made the copies, and only charged me $50!

 

What a great guy. Nice and polite. Always has nice things to say. Helps people all day long. All kinds of people. Little kids with the flu. People who had strokes. Many poor folks who don't have much money. Stays really busy just helping and helping. Says he never has time to mess around on the internet. Too many people to help out for that. The world is full of people in need of doctors. Nice occasion to compliment someone on their hard work.

I only use personal checks, that way all I have to do is watch my acct online to see when check was cashed,,,,having the check cashed only means they cashed the check,,,,,,if some thing is out of order or let's say a suspended dr. certed or renewed you, you will see your check get cashed and recieve a denial letter in the mail, the denial will tell you what is wrong and what needs to be fixed, they hold your check, when you send back in your fresh renewel the use the check you sent before!

 

I havent heard of any one gettting a check back with a denial!

Yes that is a realy good sounding dr. you have there rest!  Im quite happy with mine now also! 

The only thing I dont like about dr. offices, are the pt's with colds and coughing lol!  I dont even pick up a magazine in a dr. office or most places that waiting room have them,,,,,,,,germaphobia lol,,,,,one good thing about my recent break up is I wont get the colds and whooping cough the kids always brought home from school or other things they shared lol!

Its the green card you should have filled out when you submitted your forms at the post office, its a registered/certified receipt to show they received the paper work. It is stamped by lara, and sent back to you. if you didnt send it registered you wouldnt have gotten it back,. patients and cg reccomend it be filled out and used, lara dont care.. but the date shows when they got it and how long before  your 21 days are completed. etc

registered/return receipt mail is a little green postcard you fill out basically. whoever gets your letter at the office signs it, and the post office mails the signature back to you on the postcard letting you know when it was recieved.

 

all post offices have this thing. it costs a couple dollars. you have to ask for it and fill it out.

 

like i said, if you are worried you can call lara on monday (if they are open holiday weekend)

Danm wish i would have known that. Im sure everything will go ok just was getting worried and wanted my hard copy. Its my first card.

I know i was so nervous and idk not trusting of our lovely gov lol. But happy as a kid on xmas now. I will stay safe man. I plan on staying under the radar and acting how i was before i was legal. Not telling anyone outside my very small circle and keeping it low key. Dont need Johnny law on me.

I will make sure i do Thank you for the advice. So bowls and all smoking devices and papers are protected with our card?
