"to Turn, Or Not To Turn..."

For all you experienced growers out there:

Do turn turn or rotate your plants during veg and/or flower?

I read a bit on this and, obviously, there are differing opinions. In the ground, obviously not, but what about indoors? I've read good arguments for and against. Just curious what you'all do and why. TIA.

I think the obvious answer is spin them girls like a top for maximum light exposure. But really?  meh, who cares. There are auto spinners for plants on the market. I dont think its worth the efforts or the losses, from broken branches, damaged trichomes...I move mine when its necessary  only. In veg it happens more often for the trimming while they wait for their spot in flower. Training can provide max exposure, like lollipopping, topping for cola grows etc. if someone was concerned. I used to use light movers in my flower room. Really nice for large trays of smaller plants like I used to grow, now I grow way less plants, and use way less power, and no movers. Movers make more sense than manual spinning of plants..imo.  the auto spinners are innovative though

Thanks everyone for the feedback. My first few grows I turned, but a well respected CA grower argued that with proper trimming the plants with adjust themselves to the light for optimal coverage. I pop beans in a few days and may experiment with like strains: turning one and not the other.

yyeah if you are LST and topping/fim all that , turning might not help as much as we think

I usually top/LST. The last round I let some Green Crack do their own thing. The plant formed as you would expect, but I was disappointed in the size of the colas and overall weight.

This round I'm going to experiment with a modified "manifold" method. I'll top, LST the two main side branches and then remove the second nodes, LST-ing the third node. The result will be six main colas which I'll prune to remove bottom grow. Should be interesting.. Anyone tried this?

I LST, top and FIM in veg and spread the branches out based on how much room the plant has, or will have, in the flower room.  I generally prune-off the sucker branches to keep buds within about an 18-inch range of vertical depth when flowering.  This often means I'm pruning branches off into about the fourth or fifth week of flowering.  This results in little trim work needed at  harvest time and few, if any, small buds.

The small, shaded buds used to go into the scrap heap to make oil.  Alas, after the MSC rulings on concentrates, I don't make oil anymore.  So these little buds are mostly trimmed-off before the plant finishes.  But if I don't get around to trimming-off the small buds, they end up in the compost heap.

I would do the same outdoors with our ever changing outdoor environment, I hate molds. But indoors here nothing changes, except my electric bill,  the run time duration of my ac unit and dehumidifier. My controls keep up pretty well with heat/cold changes. Four colas is  easier for me to manage in my indoor plot, and often NO training at all is fun too for me. I shave/lollipop too  and avoid most of the scrap trimming time either way.
