He was a total jerk as a human being. Employees of venues where he performed were not allowed to look directly at him. If he walked past you supposed to avert your eyes.

This was a singular incident as far as I can tell. And who knows what the exact details were? Yeah, he may have been acting like an a-hole. Many geniuses - and if ever the overused term applied to a musician it certainly does apply in the case of Prince - act like prima donnas at times.

 

But calling him  "total" jerk and then being so quick & snarky to dismiss his death? C'mon. The guy was philanthropically generous but didn't brag about it. He was often self-effacing. In later years he refused to use obscenities in shows and wanted to make them appropriate for families.

 

Prince was not a "total jerk".

Only going by personal experience. Wasn't singular it was part of his contract. Jerk was the nicest thing I could think of to call him.

 

I just couldn't pass up the last line, I'm not a very nice person either.
