Dennis Leonard Fowler, 25, of Michigan Department of Corrections, 15 months to 10 years MDOC for possession of contraband in prison, third-time habitual offender, consecutive to any MDOC sentence now being served, $198 fees/costs.

10 years for 2 joints?

i feel like no one has done statistics on people serving time who get more time while in prison for possession.

They don't fck around in prison. Contraband violations can just as well be a cell phone as drugs.

I like that show too. I missed this episode thank you.

the habitual offender protocols should be re examined.

cannabis laws should be re examined.

corrupt judges should not be considered for the job again.

until then, dont get caught 3x for best results.   in a land of cannabis persecution we all participate at our own risk. scary for now I hope not for long. I'm guessing there are thousands of current prisoners with similar circumstances. its sick.

They guys address is mdoc, which means he was on work release or something, and brought drugs into a prison!  If you cant take narcotics, caffiene or tobaco, they are not going to let you use mm in jail!

join the real world t-pain, so you think it is ok to smuggle contraband into prison?

That is what your title is "caught possessing contraband in prison"!

A federal lawsuit filed in March alleges that David Stojcevski, 32, of Roseville, who was serving time for failing to pay a traffic ticket, died in the Macomb County Jail last year after serving 17 days as result of neglect on the part of guards and medical staff, WDIV reports.

Stojcevski was charged with obstruction of justice as part of careless driving charge. When he failed to pay the $772 fine last year, the judge sentenced him to 30 days in jail.

Kevin Dietz of WDIV reports that the man lost 50 pounds in 17 days and was in a high-observation unit and the cell was under 24-hour surveillance.  A videotape shows his body twitching, as he goes into drug withdrawal, lying on the floor naked, and nothing was done. Prisoners in that unit can't wear clothes for their own protection.

The family lawsuit states that Stojcevski had been seeing a doctor to beat addiction and had been prescribed methadone, xanax and another medication. Without these drugs, the body can go into severe withdrawal, Dietz reports.

Dietz reports that a nurse evaluated him and recommended he be placed in a medical drug detox unit. Instead, he was put in a jail cell. Six days later, he was acting erratic and moved to a mental health cell and put under suicide watch where his activities were under video surveillance

Near the end, before he died, he was visibly thinner and no longer had the strength to call for help, Dietz reports. In his final two days of life, Dietz reports, Stojcevski never got off the cold cement floor in his cell and was gasping for  his final breaths.

Dietz says in his report:

It is a hard thing to watch a man die, especially when it could have been prevented.

Penalties are compounded inside of any correctional institute 15 months is his benchmark  he wont sniff the 10 years if he keeps his nose clean from here on out .

I got arrested for driving w/o a liscense, I went to court, I dressed in very nice clothes, I was very respectful, I had a court appt'd attny, when it was time to be sentenced I had 3 days worth of my meds, methadone 10 mg,,,xanax 1mg both 4 times daily, amongs a bunch of other meds, celexa, depakote, motrin 800mg,,,,,the judge was going to sentence me to 10 days in jail, my attny asked if I could get sentenced after I refilled my narcotics so I dont run out,  The judge set my sentencing for the next week, I had my meds, and all of my records!  I got sentenced to 10 days, which equals 8 nites!

I get to the ogemaw county jail with all of my records, meds, etc, I was told it was a non narcotic jail, I was not going to be allowed any of my meds, they said they would give me asprin or wtv!

I had been on methadone 10 mg 4 times a day and the xanas for over 12 yrs!

I dont remember anything after the 1st day in jail, I was transfered to clare county jail, when my lady came and got me, I was only out of jail for 10 minutes, she had to call an ambulance, I woke up 20 hrs later in I.C.U with all kinds of tubes in my throat, arms, etc

My lady and my dad were there, My dr said I should have died!

I was in jail for a traffic violation, It has changed my life for ever, I have dreams or memory's of that time, but I remember nothing, My voice changed, honestly, I used to be a karaoke host for extra funds, I honestly have won contests, I cant sing no songs I used to sing, I have these memory's/dreams or nitemares I cant get out of my head!

I spoke with a very good friend/attny He told me I could sue the county's but We wont get anything financialy worth an attny's time, I would love to sue them so it dont happen to some one else!

A county jail will usualy give an alcoholic phenabarbital to help them with their dt's, That would also help for narcotic's!  I know I mis behaved, my hands were killing me and my voice was horse when I got out of i.c.u,  so I know I was acting up and I also know they had my medical records and my meds!

They didnt give a phaq If I died!  Man they treat traffic violators that way, I would hate to be arrested fo being a pot head!

ooooooo

T, I just figured he was bringing s hit in for his buddy's, and I bet im right lol!

Walk in my shoes one time!

Peace

Jim
