HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WLNS) – An anonymous Crime Stoppers tip lead to the arrest of a 27-year-old man and the seizure of more than $200,000 worth of marijuana.

On Saturday, May 7 someone alerted Crime Stoppers to a home where they believed marijuana was being grown.

Officials went to the home where they met Anthony Edward Nunziato, who gave the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office written permission to search his home.

That’s where Hillsdale County Sheriff’s deputies found 71 plants believed to be marijuana, more than 37 pounds of processed drugs, believed to be marijuana, suspected marijuana hash and oil/wax. They also found 270 cans of butane, 170 were full and 100 empty. In addition, deputies found multiple items believed to be used to manufacture marijuana oil/wax.

Nunziato was taken into custody and placed in the Hillsdale County Jail with no bond. He’s facing manufacture marijuana 2nd offense, manufacture marijuana (oil/wax) 2nd offense, and possession of intent to deliver marijuana 2nd offense. All three charges are felonies.

ok, thats it!   no more blasting for me. I dont want to be the schmuck here with a gofundme begging for a pro bono Komorn defense. I work my azz off to remain legal in this mess. I wont jeopardize all that I do for a few squirts of oil. To think a smear could negate my otherwise perfectly legal provisioning makes me shake. I dont like to shake.

A past patient made me an offer i couldnt refuse , just recently I accepted. ......, no more closed loop. I still believe oil is legal, of course it is, but cannot afford to convince others. I also know of another tami for sale if anyone is interested pm me, I'll put you in touch. that guy actually upgraded to the larger unit!!

I threw my old honey bee in the fire so I wouldnt be tempted to visit the dark side again.

I'm thinking big pharma is about to sativex the U.S. , and understand they cant have competitors. Once again leo is called upon to serve and protect .....the corporate machine. Smoking the leaf and flowers is the poor mans use, while concentrates and oils represent an elevated conscientiousness healing. I am a poor man, and will continue to know my place.

I've seen that situation before^^^, it probably didnt go down they way imagined. Imagine para military cops with lasers suggesting to a kid how much easier it would be

to "just let us in", or they already found enough to put the fear in him, and he stepped aside, or they violated his rights, searched and seized without a warrant, and while he was on the floor, he needed to pee, they made him a deal....he's young remember

Perhaps he is a cg w/ a full card and felt he was protected.

How the heck does leo come up with 37lbs when most of what I saw was wet/ drying.

He may have served himself better by disposing of those spent cans... maybe.

I personally would never invite leo inside, never did before and would not esp. now.

LEO's are not our friends and never have been... don't invite them inside.

I'm a little freaked out about this. I work for an environmental cleanup company. A few years ago we got a call from Spencer's (the adult gift store). They had multiple cases of discontinued butane and had to dispose of them. I stopped by and picked up about 120 cans of butane and kept them. Not for extractions but for a lifetime supply of butane to refill lighters for myself and my friends. Seeing the photo of multiple butane cans compels me to just get rid of it.

yes. assuming ops are indeed counting the whole fresh cut plants as part of the weight in their news story.

I figure they might stop that nonsense after courts taught them. thanks for the refresher links

I bet it went down kinda like this:

LEO receives a complaint or tip

They go to the house and tell the individual that they just want to do a compliance check or else they will have to get a search warrant and raid.

The guy thinks, 'Hey my stash is hidden and I have a legal amount of plants growing, I’ll just show them that and they will leave.'

He signs over permission for a search

They find his 10+ pounds of bud/leaves, butane cans, ect. hidden somewhere.

In that one pic there is at least 6 pounds of trimmed bud on the table; even if freshly cut (unlikely looking at stage of pulled plants), there's no way he could be under limits. But again BHO is not illegal under the law via CoA, just under our overlords LEO. At least he might have section 8 avail.

Cop "are you growing marijuana?"

You "Yes officer  and im licensed by the state to do so"

Cop "Can we come in and make sure your in compliance? If  not we will just get a warrant"

You "I do not consent to any compliance check as ive committed no crime so without a warrant  im going to ask you to leave"

Any other answer to snooping forfeiture driven behavior of  law enforcement you risk arrest be smart NEVER  NEVER  allow unwarranted access to your home for any reason if they do get a warrant keep your mouths shut until your attorney is present .
