For winterization filtering you will need to vacuum filter because it has to get filtered before the solution warms up too much because the fats and waxes go back into solution.

In reviewing this thread I saw a few ideas about a buchner funnel and a vacuum pump.     In an effort to cut down on equipment purchases I tried to see what I might have that could do the trick.   A diaphragm air pump, i.e. an EcoAir 3, has a barbed fitting on the air intake side.   It is the same size as the fitting on my 1 liter vacuum flask.  A piece of hose and it worked like a charm.   No hand pumping, no new equipment to buy.
