Toxins In Concentrate Vapor?

Recommended Posts

I would think that if the concentrate was not decarbed it would produce CO2 as it is heated, as long as it was not burned. This is in reference to an e-liquid mix. I suppose it would be the same as in dabbing, but you would have to be more cautious not to burn the concentrate as burning would then more than likely produce CO.

I have a device (e-cigg) that is temperature controlled. You set the temperature of the coil and it will not exceed the set temp. Such as a stainless steel, nickel, or titanium coil.

Formaldehyde is one of a number of carcinogenic compounds that can result from vaporizing various ecig liquids. The biggest culprit seems to be flavorings.

But even just PG may create problems when vaporized:

Here some chemistry for any of you wonks:

This is from a study done in 1947 where they had a bunch of monkeys & rats breathing high concentrations of PG vapor for up to 1-1/2 years and concluded that it's harmless:

But keep in mind that vaporization products depends highly on temperature and the above study may not reflect the compounds found from vaping.

You're right.

I would say the most dangerous component of e-cigg juice is the flavorings. Unless you know what you are doing and make your own with natural products. Most of the e-cigg juice bottles don't even say what the flavorings are let alone what they are made of.

I have been using natural flavorings and VG and mixing my own.

Although, I can't say I have heard of anyone having a problem aside from allergies to PG.
