New Caregiver! (Kind Of)

Hello all! I'm new here. I've been lurking for a few weeks reading as many threads as I could. Decided to finally sign up today.

So I live in NY, moving to MI in a few weeks to two months (depending on when I find affordable housing). I have a degree in linguistics, so I'm not too worried about getting a meh job.

But I really want to grow cannabis for patients, and I already have skin in the game, namely, bought LED lights, some equipment, seeds, etc. And I have some relatives who qualify for mmj who have asked if I would be their cg, so I'm not worried about having decent pts I can trust.

My question is this: If I grow for 5 patients and myself, what would I do if I produce more than my patients can use? Can I safely (legally) distribute mmj to other qualifying patients who have a card? I've asked a grower friend out in Lansing, and he didn't really give a straight answer. I have another grower friend I could ask, anyway...

I could go the Korean Kimchi method, but I don't want to break the law if I don't have to.

Anyway, sorry if I broke any rules. Thanks for any responses in advance.

Welcome to the site you will find a lot of good info here. However as to your question you can only safely provide your 5 patients that you have CG card for with your name on their card and their name on your caregiver card.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct You can only provide medicine to people connected to you via the states Medical marijuana registry following the law you barely break even  in our states program maybe one day we will legally be able to move our extras but not at this current time .

Thanks for the replies.

I just want to try my hand at growing quality, organic medicine. I also want to have legal experience so that when legalization rolls around, I'll be able to grow on a larger scale. It's not about the money now, more about the movement.

Later, I'll be interested in money and quality products.  :P

I guess I'll just have up my own personal usage once I'm off conditional release (fk new jersey and Chris Christie). Have there been any incidents with any cgs making extracts/edibles for their own use (and keeping it at home, locked away with the rest of their medicine)? I know it's not cool to make it for other people.
Sorry for the newb questions. Most of the posts I have read regarding this are from 2010-2012, and it seems like MI legislators are as annoying and crappy as NY legislators what with the rapid changing of ordinances and laws. Say what you want about your laws though, at least you get to grow. It's like NY doesn't even have mmj. You can't get a rec unless you're nearly dead. Only 5 companies can distribute. And you can only get pills, from what I've heard.

you'll have the most expensive compost in the neighborhood, thats what happens when we grow more than our registered patients need.

Welcome to the Site!

Loose Lips Sink Ships!

Dont let people know your business and you will do just fine!

Dont poop where you eat and you will be fine!

I use medibles, I know they are supposedly not aceptable by leo, I read in the law that I can have a preporation there of and I do!

despenses are mostly getting closed for selling medibles, dabs, oil , wax etc, they are not getting shut down for selling to people who are not registered to them for the most part, dont get me wrong some county's shut them down just because they are not in the law, if they are not in the law they are not legal,  I actualy seen some one get popped for hooking up a friend with a few budds and that same town has a despense open across the street from the po po station,,,,,go figure!

I do know of c.g's that sell their overages at farm markets or to despense's,  That dont mean you wont get arrested, so do at your own risk!

I say act like it is ilegal, dont show people what you have!

Peace

Yeah, I lived in korea for a a while. Learned how to make kimchi, which is surprisingly difficult.

but i was referring to burying it. they used to bury their kimchi in clay pots, especially during the winter months. they don't anymore, but you can find an old-fashioned village that does it for educational purposes.

for cannabis, if you dig deep enough and vacuum seal it, in theory, it should work.

I'll just stick to the legal limits. and i'll test my culinary abilities too.
