Saginaw Sheriff Facing Federal Lawsuit Over Sale Of Seized Property

SAGINAW, MI — A Shiawassee County couple has filed a federal lawsuit against Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel over property seized during a 2008 drug investigation.

"The appellate court determined that Gerald Ostipow's action of fixing the tornado doors damaged in the incident but not investigating the residence for further damage was enough circumstantial evidence to show he "was aware that the farmhouse was used for illegal activity and wanted to avoid exposing the interior to himself or law enforcement," according to the attorneys."

In a fair world you would drive around in a car you took from the cop with a sticker on it saying you confiscated it from an armed drug dealer.
