Michigan Senate Approves Medical Marijuana Tax, Regulations

Recommended Posts

Why is it everytime I hear on the news about this they talk like All Growers will have to be registered with the state now to grow every time it's on the radio Or TV

So far it dont look like they are messing with c.g and pt grow rights, but we cant sell it to the supply centers!

Im sure the wording will change and a-hole will sign it, specialy if it begins to phaq with c.g and pt's!

Peace

90 days from when the governor signs it, it goes into effect.

360 days from then, they start to accept applications.

No amount of time determined for consideration of issuance.

10 days after submission of application, municipality notified of application.

So, once they do finally issue a grower license some 1 year and 5 months from now if all goes as planned(yea right) , then a grower may acquire seeds clones and start growing(seed to sale tracking).  SO, after a full grow 4 monthsish?  the marijuana can be sent for testing, which if extensive will be up to 2 weeks. And if the marijuana actually passes, then it can go to a dispensary or a processor.

So even if everything goes as planned, attachicon.gifguy.gif , I would say the first joint wont be sold for 1 year and 9 or 10 months from now.

I think that is a worse case scenario.

There are a couple of differences with this roll out versus what we had in 2009.  1) The law is being implemented by the legislature this time, not against their will.  The state dragged their feet the first time as long as they could because the state and its agencies didn't want to have anything to do with it.  2) There is tax revenue involved for the state and for the locals.  The sooner the law is up and ready, the sooner they can start to collect revenue.  I am guessing there are little back rooms right now with local politicians plotting how to spend the money.

If you're already wealthy and/or have controlling interest in a trucking firm, lab or an existing large cannabis business (like from Colorado, California or Washington) or you have enough startup capital to invest in a large, high security warehouse grow, then you can potentially make a killing in our new Michigan green rush.

If not then don't get your hopes up, this legislation was not written for you.

PATIENTS APPLAUD PASSAGE OF MEDICAL MARIJUANA REFORMS;

NOW AWAIT GOVERNORS SIGNATURE!!!

LANSING- Today the House of Representatives voted and concurred with the Senate on a package of bills to expand and further regulate Michigan's Medical Marijuana Program. The bills championed by Rep. Mike Callton (R-Nashville), Rep. Lisa Lyons (R-Alto), Rep. Klint Kesto (R-West Bloomfield) and Senator Coleman Young II (D-Detroit) will license and regulate medical marijuana provisioning centers, growers, processors, transporters and safety compliance facilities. Patients will also be permitted to use smoking-alternative forms of cannabis including capsules, topical oils, edibles and liquid forms for oral dosing.

"We would like to thank the Michigan Legislature for taking the necessary steps to protect Michigan's most vulnerable medical marijuana patients," said Robin Schneider the Legislative Policy Director and Patient Advocate for the National Patients Rights Association. "We've spent over five long years advocating for safe access to all forms of medical cannabis and are overwhelmed with gratitude today. We've overcome so much adversity, found middle ground with law enforcement and finally settled on common sense reforms. During this process we've lost some of our members to cancer and AIDS--our only regret is that those members are not here with us today to benefit medically from all of their hard work."

Mother of Pediatric Patient Expresses Gratitude and Awaits Governor Snyder's Signature:

Ida Chinonis of Grand Blanc is the mother of seven year old Bella Chinonis who suffers from 1p36 Deletion Syndrome a chromosome disorder that has caused life-threatening seizures. Ida also applauded the passage of the bills and said, "I am thankful to the many legislators who took the time to meet my daughter Bella and understand her story. Because of you she has a voice. I also would like to thank National Patients Rights Association for their years of hard work, dedication and loyalty to the patients in this fight for legal medicine. I wholeheartedly and respectfully urge Governor Snyder to sign this package of bills to allow my Bella and many other patients like her the right to use this medicine without living in fear of arrest and prosecution." Ida and Bella have spent years testifying in front of the legislature about the success they have had using medical marijuana as a treatment to alleviate Bella's seizures and improve her quality of life.

About the NPRA:
The National Patients Rights Association is a 501 [c][6] non-profit Organization whose main purpose is to advance the rights of medical marijuana patients, their caregivers and the many businesses that serve them. Our team of professionals and community advocates work tirelessly toward the progress, safety and efficacy of the medical marijuana industry.

"The NPRA has become an invaluable resource in helping make safe access of medical marijuana a reality in Michigan" - State Representative Mike Callton

Snyder and scheutte have been making felons out of patients and caregivers for 8 years claiming cannabis was schedule 1 and illegal at the federal level

Shameless, soulless two faced back stabbing hypocrites.

Wow, the story on Wikipedia about Rainbow farm paints a much different picture of it.  But yea, if anyone had anything to do with it, Teter more than Grandholm imho.  But the burning of the farm, all accounts say that Tom and Rollie burned the farm, and the FBI shot them as they had shot a news helicopter, and had been spraying the woods with gunfire.

Maybe someone should update Wikipedia if this is wildly inaccurate.

Wikipedia  Post false crap all the time  they are controlled by the man  Grandholm  requested the fbi to come in. Along with   Cass County Prosecuting Attorney Scott Teter,

When Teter arrived on the scene, Crosslin saw then-attorney general Jennifer Granholm, a Democrat who is now Michigan's governor, in the car with him. Teter immediately got an injunction banning all future festivals.
