Lots of reasons:

 

State based website

Harvest

Some folks think it's all been said and done

Political season - lots of anger! Best to avoid

A few have been seemingly chased away by other members over differing viewpoints

Some members simply don't post anymore for the above reasons, but still view the site

Some have gone to better places

Some have gone to other sites.

 

I like this site, but agree that it's slow and a bit boring. I can ask a question on a gardening site and the little old ladies reply lickity split. Here its kind of like...."Look it up, Dipshit!"

Has this site released any stats?  Maybe the changes over time.  Not sure on the total member count, but it seemed like there was more activity early on (which could be for a number of reasons).

It has changed WM.  I don't know the whole story, but we used to always have 3-4 people in chat.  a couple dozen always in forums.  But management was a bit weird, then it changed hands, the old owner was a jerk about it, chased a lot away. 

 

I miss hanging out in chat.

Things were a lot different a few years ago. We all thought that cannabis was legal for card holders so we were all quite comfortable about talking about and showing our " legal" cannabis to the world. Then the busts started and the fear set in. I still don't feel real comfortable about talking cannabis on here still.

That's a sad truth...  I let go of my fear a few years ago, and it feels SOOOO good.  I may end up losing everything because of it, but at least I spend the years I have now happy and not looking over my shoulder.

 

There are many reasons I can argue for and also that I can argue against recreational...  but I would like it to go Rec just so that people would stop be persecuted for a simple plant.

For me personally I think if you stay within the guidelines of the mmma you should have no worries. Its not illegal to post pics of your grow or talk about your grow or talk about seeds and cloneing.

 

I lost that fear about 6 years ago, been legal 7 years and never even had a encounter with the cops...and even if I did I feel comfortable that I am within the law.

Well I think the website itself could use some upgrading, more features like some of the other sites.

 

I really like the format of the rui site.

Riu sucks, they act like they dont sensor but man dont say nothing bad about dr. bob you will get kicked out!

Another website I belong to has 71,000 members with 185 members & 900 guests visiting it now.

 

This website has 31,563 members but only 8 members & 60 guests visiting it now.

 

Where's all the people?
