Large Marijuana Growing Operation Found In Barry County

BARRY COUNTY, Mich.– The Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) conducted Domestic Cannabis Eradication and Suppression Program (DCE/SP)  flights on Tuesday, and found a large growing operation in Barry County.

During the federally-funded flights used to locate and remove illegally grown marijuana, SWET detectives were able to find marijuana plants being grown at a Barry County home. A man was seen leaving the area where the marijuana was growing.

Detectives were able to find large amounts of money, processed marijuana and Butane Hash Oil (BHO) in the man’s trailer. Over 44 marijuana plants, 23 pounds of process marijuana and 5 ounces of BHO was seized from the property.

The suspect was arrested after being in violation of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act and is being held at Barry County Jail. His identity is not being released at this time.

September 2006 I had a Nat. Guard chopper come right down over my yard checking out my garden (vegetable) while I was standing right there. I could have hit them with a rock, not throwing hard either. I flew them two birds! I mean WTF! eh?

Might not be. My point was you can't assume the feds are going back on the memo just because of this cop press release. You can't just pick parts of it you want to believe and parts you want to say are false to make some point about how the feds are not following the Obama Administration's memo to not mess with state legal grows.

Exactly. Don't jump to any conclusions over a cop press release. Not even conclusions that bolster what you are trying to prove. 

Take this press release at face value. All you can believe is that it was put out there to form public ideas and opinions of what is going on, what they are doing. No reason to believe any part of it.

Just happened to a good friend of mine in Mackinac County, he is awaiting word from the prosecutor as to what charges he may be facing.I read it varies from county to county, maybe??? I live in Chippewa County and on the same day my friend was raided ,they flew over all the grows ( that I am aware of)over here ,including mine, I had a roof on my grow, as did my neighbor, they flew over several times in their helicopter( the helicopter had guns on it, please don't shoot :>)and left with no contact, that was three weeks ago. Looks as if my buddy may be testing this in court soon.

I think your buddy would fare well with a gofundme here. This will be the opportunity right now for those supporting topless grows to put their money here their mouth is. We could actually set precedence with this. We could show the courts the facts. I thought our law was a state rule not a county rule.  We could stop these senseless thefts and prosecutions. Who will donate money to this cause?

Just a few will get off before the legislature makes their intent a little more clear with their wording. No 'long term' precedent will be set given the circumstances. I'm not going into it any further or the James Amsdill defense will be less effective.

imagine the community coming together to make something like this happen, instead of yelling about it in a forum. A few bucks here and there collectively can go along way towards justice. Lots of people fold in court for the lack of money, its a shame, gofundme could possibly  fill that need here.
