Am I Right That The Amount You Can Have Will Increase?

Recommended Posts

I've been away, dealing with a personal matter. I still have people asking me about the MMJ laws and my doing workshops.

In reading the latest amendments; am I correct that a patient can have 2.5 ounces of usable marijuana in addition to 2.5 ounces of marijuana equivalents?

What is marijuana in a gaseous form?

Thanks Zap.

A simple conversion chart would be nice for those of us who suck at math (me).

My pops was an accountant and my moms did trig, calc, stats etc for enjoyment.

There was no trickle down to me no matter how they tried... math is not for me.

I still count on my fingers and only learned metric weights due to my relationship

with cannabis.  I do remember enough formulas to use a calculator I suppose.

I am certain I am not alone in this.

Normally use 1 oz of bud and 1 lb. of butter to make cannabutter. With the new law, the butter is considered as 1 oz. of our 2.5 oz. limit.

Now I am thinking maybe use 2 oz of bud to a lb. of butter to make cannabutter. Then if recipe calls for 1/4 lb (8 tsp.) of cannabutter, I will use 4 tsp. and then add 4 tsp of regular butter. This will keep the regular potency that I am accustomed to.

This way I have 2 oz. of product in 1 lb. of butter.

I thought you could only  have 7 grms of oil and 1.5 of mm!

Please correct me or show me the line!

© For purposes of determining usable marihuana equivalency, the following shall be considered equivalent to 1 ounce of usable marihuana:

(1) 16 ounces of marihuana-infused product if in a solid form.

(2) 7 grams of marihuana-infused product if in a gaseous form.

(3) 36 fluid ounces of marihuana-infused product if in a liquid form.

forget gas. lets make it simpler.

(1) 16 ounces of marihuana-infused product if in a solid form. = 1 oz usable

(3) 36 fluid ounces of marihuana-infused product if in a liquid form. = 1 oz usable

this means you can have 2 pounds of butter (assuming you have only .5 oz of buds and 2 pounds of butter)

a better question though. butter is a liquid. it is not a solid at room temp.

how the heck do you measure a fluid oz?

here you go:

Amount : 36 fluid ounces (fl-oz of butter)

Equals : 9.00 sticks (full stick / butter)

One pound of butter converted to stick equals to 4.00 full sticks.

so in theory... you could have at least a couple pounds of liquid butter.

hope that helps you cooks out there.

So RSO will fall under #3 (liquid form)? From all the pics, it is a liquid.

I've made alcohol extracts (RSO) that were solid at room temps and some that were liquid at room temps.

Oil is considered a liquid.

At room temperature and sea level pressures, most waxes are solid

Some extracted oils are solid at room temperature because they contain a lot of plant wax. You can turn those into liquid (at room temperature) by a winterization process to remove the plant wax.

RSO is something I have never tried, read up on it though. Maybe will try after the new year.

From what they have been saying LEO's lab has no way of determining how much active ingredient is actually in an infused product or baked good. That was what created all the gray areas for them. (Except for the ability to find .0000014 nanograms in a child's hair.)

Now that it's in the law will they magically be able to discern the chemical makeup, just go on saying it's synthetic or will they take our word for it?
