Police Recover 200 Pounds Of Illegal Marijuana During Traffic Stop In Sterling Heights

Police in Sterling Heights recovered approximately 200 pounds of illegal marijuana making its way from California to Michigan during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

The Sterling Heights Police Department provided the following information:

The Sterling Heights Police Department Crime Suppression Unit has been investigating a source of high potency marijuana making its way into Sterling Heights from California. After initiating this investigation, a vehicle was stopped in the area of 14 Mile Road and Van Dyke by S.H.P.D officers. 

The vehicle was occupied by three subjects and approximately 200 lbs. of illegal marijuana. Subsequent to this traffic stop and arrest, search warrants were then executed by the Sterling Heights Police Department at various other locations. 

The result of the furthered investigation was an arrest of a fourth subject and the seizure of another quantity of illegal marijuana.

The result of this investigation was the removal of a large quantity of illegal drugs from our neighborhood streets, the sizable seizure of U.S monies and the seizure of a vehicle as a furtherance of the crime. 

Because of the example of hard work set by Chief John Berg of the Sterling Heights Police Department, good old fashioned police work by the men and women of S.H.P.D was able to prevent a large quantity of illicit drugs from reaching our neighborhoods and schools.

My guess would be the profit margin from cali to the mitten. Buy a pound out there for 800 come to Michigan put it on a dispensary shelf for 450 a ounce. Same reason they have for years and years.

thats true but im sure they had a handle on a couple disp, to drop the full 200 for a nice profit, we have been saying for years that they (disp) were bringing weed from outta state. seems like this proves it straight up..

It's easier to grow in California. You can have large legal commercial grows outdoors.

 

I see it was high potency marijuana too! Must have been extremely dangerous stuff.
