Getting Started With No Patients?

Hi, brand new here and I have a question that I haven't seen addressed or my searching capabilities are poor...

 

I am currently setting up a high pressure aeroponic growing setup -- not for marijuana specifically (I am not a user), I am planning on growing the usual stuff like lettuce and tomatoes. But then I thought it would be a fun exercise to add marijuana, most especially if I could help out some people (patients) who need it ... in fact, my wife is one who could benefit, but she's not mentally there yet (not even close).

 

Anyway, how do I get started, legally? It's kind of a catch-22, right? I have to apply for a caregiver card or whatever and list the patient, and a patient has to list me; but I don't have any product yet and won't for awhile, so how am I supposed to get a patient? I haven't even proven my methods yet, that I can actually grow anything of any quality ...

 

I have an eye toward the future too, when I can apply to be a grower and supply to dispenaries -- when is that, like September this year?
