White House Expects Us Justice Department To Step Up Crackdown On Recreational Marijuana

Talk about fake news. Marijuana has been the biggest victim of fake news in the history of fake news.

For decades the anti-marijuana forces have made up stories about the dangers of marijuana while covering up the stories about the benefits of marijuana. Despite their best efforts, the truth about marijuana is emerging and leaving the anti-marijuana forces with egg on their faces. It bothers me that no matter how many times they get caught in a lie they just blithely go on their way and act as if nothing happened.

But  wAIT   I thought trump was for states right  lol

To be fair, in the press conference about marijuana enforcement by the feds in the states, Trump's spokesman said they would draw a distinction between medical and recreational. They would let the states decide about medical marijuana, but recreational will be subject to the federal law saying that is illegal.

We will have to see how the press conference translates into reality. But we certainly got some real news about Trump administration policy. And we already knew AG Sessions was chomping at the bit to start enforcing the federal law that says marijuana is illegal.

Trump's spokesman said they would draw a distinction between medical and recreational.??  How can that be done when rec/med are both sold and grown in the same buildings? This is an attack on both. dont let them fool you,

The administration spokesman said they would leave medical marijuana patients and caregivers alone who follow state rules.

The way I have always interpreted the Michigan State Medical Marijuana Rules is that medical marijuana plants are grown in an enclosure all by themselves with no recreational marijuana being grown in that enclosure.

Well, the Rohrabacher-Farr CJS budget amendment has to be voted on every year and it BARELY passed with only like 49 republicans voting for it. It comes up by September 30th again. We will see what happens. Once that is not voted into the budget, Sessions is not bound by law on medical marijuana budgetary issues.  I actually know for a fact, we lost several of the very few republican needed to pass it again.

Right. Luckily we have the media right on this issue and willing to ask the pertinent questions. I was really happy to hear that in the press conference.

On February 23, Press Secretary Sean Spicer indicated the Department of Justice might begin "greater enforcement" of federal law in states that have legalized marijuana. But during the campaign President Trump repeatedly pledged that if elected the federal government would respect the rights of states to enact their own cannabis laws. That is a wise policy supported by a growing super-majority of voters. They know that state marijuana legalization laws hurt the cartels, fund our schools and roads, and protect public health and safety. Studies in the Journal of the American Medical Association and others have shown that states with legal and accessible medical and recreational marijuana see a significant reduction in opioid death rates. Please keep your promise to the American people.

For those in US District 1 here in Michigan,... Contact Republican Rep. Jack Bergman and ask him to support that amendment and vote for it.  Dan Benishek retired and he was an ardent supporter of medical marijuana. We need to force Jack Bergman to be a supporter too.  Make sure he knows just how much Dan Benishek supported it,... and Benishek was a physician.  It might help. Hard to say with this old military guy.
