One very real concern anyone thinking about doing a water culture of any sort, including an aero especially... Please understand that anyone that suggest that 'it is easy' or can be left alone for 2 WEEKS unattended and without maintenance... Well, that is the exact opposite of true. Then ask why they would suggest this, what type of person does so? Especially when this has been proven time and time again, by many a competent grower to be untrue. This is the highest maintenance type of grow imaginable. And guess what? I did it, and did it well. The reason i absolutely dumped the idea is because of what is required, and the risk that is inherent in such a process. And because there are much easier ways to accomplish the same or even better results, with much less risk. Simple as pie, and anyone w real experience in the varying grow styles, knows this to be true. Anyone suggesting otherwise just doesnt know, or is misrepresenting, or is straight taking secret pleasure in trying to screw w u. Look, for any of u wanting to do for yourself... I respect that tremendously. I did it, so now i know. U do it, then u will know. But dont take some half assed idea that it is easy and simple as true. It simply is not. Reaearch the heck out of it. Assume every possible problem as one that will happen. Have a preventative strategy in place, have backup plans for when they will eventually come up. Have backup gear because how quickly u respond will be just as important as how u respond. Go into the task as well prepared as u can, and understand it will require more time and attention than any other style of growing. Give yourself the best possible chance for success. And be very careful of whom u listen to. I leave it at that.
-
Take highlander for example, or gary... Were they to take ur advice, take what u suggest as being accurate and true.., they will find themselves in desperate situation, after investing great time, money, and efforts, all by themselves in a big ole mess. U will have anandoned them and tossed it up to their not following instructions, messing something up, or accusing them of being incompetent... The whole time u just didnt know chit about what u were representing. There will be real consequence and harm to others because of your fronting, and posing, and feeding ur ego. U r a potential harm to others. Period.
-
Bob... Here's the deal, i like u, i like where u r at, i like the way u think, i wish u the very best in where u r trying to go. Reason for all of that, because yes u r correct in that we disagree on some things, is that intentions become very clear, over time, in a person's posts. And i believe u have good intentions, and r a decent person to boot. I have no beef w u, although we might disagree on some things. U r not a bad person imo, even perhaps one of the good ones. Time will tell, as we are all mostly a product of our circumstances. What time will bring u...? Who can possibly say, but u r starting from a good place, imo. And that makes u a world apart from resto. And why i have to inclination to involve you at all, not in something like this. Cool?

Yes, it is ego on your part here resto. And since i feel u r reckless in what u r doing, i will take the moment to respond, out of a higher sense to do some good. Here is what ihave know for a long time... U misrepresent your 'expertise' in matters of growing. How do i know this? From real life experience that is beyond what you have. To those that have actually been there and done that... To those that have been through the thought and experience process... What you insist upon is simply false information, and it is overly clear. A big problem w u is a false appeal to authority. You walk around this place coming off as the 'big man' on campus, but truth is u have very limited real life experience in the matters of growing. Or perhaps, what experinece you have is bad experience, and maybe u just dont know any better. Either way, you giving advice based on that limited or bad experience does harm to anyone that follows it. And to make matters worse, this site almost endorses you... As if they have bought into what u r selling... And they have bought into it, so they r compicit in supporting your assumed position of authority. Well, it is bogus. Il give u a another practical example, one that has bothered me for the longest... Your claim that outdoor mj is the answer for michigan, and that it can be grown pristinely outdoors w no chems. You know so very little here, and i feel that u r actually lying, or are so ignorant, that u just dont know any better. And it is all done for your own personal gain. It is self-serving and obviously so to anyone w actual real life experience in these matters. No one really challenges you (because of the reasons stated above), and no one here really actually knows because they havent done it themselves, so you create this myth and perpetuate it. And that will beryboikely benefit you personally, in a finacial sort of way. It is all very obvious. But the truth of the matter, what happens in the real world, is that a climate like michigan can not grow such a crop without serious ipm, and even still, there will be mold outbreaks. How do i know this as absolute fact... It is called real experience backed by real literature and real experiences of every other commercial cropper, be it mj or otherwise. Simple fact is that in much more favorable climates... Guess what... They use ipm and chems, and still grow mold. You say that you grow no mold, none at all, outdoors, with no chems, here in michigan. Somehow, in all the world over, amongst all the farmers that exist, for all the commercial crops we consume... You, and only you, can grow perfect outdoor mj w no chems or mold. Oh my, why yes indeed, you are the authority. You are the expert. You must be so very tallented... Or misrepresenting, or flat out lying, or just plain old ignorant. Or the one and only, the chosen one. Maybe that is it, heh? Only reason i care to dance w u on this is because what you say will cause harm to another person that is less aware. You sir, are a danger to others. Whether or not your intention is to do harm, some unsuspecting person will get hurt following what you insist. Sorry to be a prick, but u need a good smack on the nose on these topics, figuratively that is, so dont get your panties in a wod and narc me out to mommy and daddy, okay?

Medical Marijuana In Michigan: Half Glass Empty Or Glass Half Full?
Indigro replied to bobandtorey's topic in Michigan News
People just dont fully appreciate what growing mj commercially means. Those that have to invest 500k-1mil... What kind of decisions will they make? Will they prioritize quality over profit? Will they do what is morally conscionable, or what is finacially necessary? The game is set to only allow the money people to play, and they will be making money decisions, for their own personal profit. And if they are the only players, they will redefine what is quality is. And quality will be what they are able to produce at a given profit expectation. Sigh... oh well, it is what it is, and most people (including many here) just dont get what is really going to happen w the quality of their meds. Don't get me wrong, if i only have one option, then im just as trapped as the next person, and will do what needs to be done. That's the ultimate problem w forcing a large scale commercial industry onto mj... People will reasonably do what ever they necessarily have to do. ((That means some seriously treated mj... Buy bayer crop science stock folks.)) -

Iv thought this for a while, but u r dangerous w giving advice. Feel u def misrepresent information. Some times it is easy for me to reason why. Here i think it is as simple as ego. But u r dangerous.
-
That is a disconnect for me. I coupdnt imagine running an active, recirc water culture w/o daily checks, and back up gear just waiting for something to fail. Truly a disconnect.
-
Just because it is free, doesnt make it a good idea. Iv run em, including trying true aero. Think i wasted about a year and a half of my life and 10grand. Not a person i know that tried it has kept up w it. Sounds great in theory, but way too many obstacles to overcome, and the end risk is total crop failure. Even if u do everything u need to do, like running a ferrari at the track... Some bit of tech fails and the car goes down. Fun science experiment, but nothing to rely on imo.

Michigan Medical Mj Industry To Oppose Milegalize
Indigro replied to semicaregiver's topic in Michigan News
Sounded to me that milegalize was going to head back to the drawing board, and try to figure out how they would move forward. Not knowing anything about what that will look like, makes guessing at 2018 difficult. Anyway, the powers that be made something pretty clear... They are in charge. After putting in a brand new system of regulated manufacture and distribution, it will be tough to get the general population to vote for a rollback. If anything, the new game can simply say, 'give us a couple of years to iron out the wrinkles, and we will have a better regulated, taxed, and safe system in place to do a better job than some hacked together plan these milegalize people hapzardly scrapped together. Just give us a couple of years, and it will be beautiful.' Not saying any of those words are real and true, but they will get said, and the point will likely stick w the average voter. And after another couple of years, we will be so invested, going back at all wont be a viable option. It will be a super tough, uphill battle at least, harder than they had it this year for sure. Based on past reality, milegalize probably wont go any further. Hate to be a bummer on this, but i have little hope for it. We've been committed to the commercial model of limited participation. -

Never watched as a kid, but have enjoyed the reruns of dick cavett. He had gore vidal on... The other night, lol... And he made comment that seems appropriate... Paraphrasing... America is run by several hundred corporations. They have an identifiable reason to keep america segregated. Were the aberage black person to get together w the average white person, and were they to get together w the average brown person, and then the average yellow person, and then the average red person... They would all realize they have a lot more in common than different, and especially once they realize they are all poor. Were that to happen, there would be a revolution in how america works. This insight was from im guessing the early 70's show, and scholars have been pointing this out since at least the 50's. And yet here we are today, getting race relations confabulated w the underlying problems. bunny muffin, even just over broke cops dont see who and what they are really fighting for.

^^^ bro science suggest the rw starter plugs absorb the microwaves and slowly releases them over the course of the crop, thereby killing any baby bugs that may get laid. ;-) At least w the rooters they have legitimate reason to be concerned w bugs (&mold) coming from the store. -

Only thing id like to comment here is that it is disproportionate... Compared to the black:white ratio of the populace. Cops kill far more black people than they statistically should, assuming we even accept the apparent fact that they will kill a bunch of people every year as normal. If it were 'fair' (in the killing of other people)... Then it it should fall along the lines of the population mix. Same thing w jails and who they put in them... It is racially disproportionate. Unfair, if u will. Also, and im not too sure on the data here, but they dont go around killing lawyers, doctors, or ceos. Im fairly certain that it would be safe to say the supermajority of people being killed are middle to lower income people... Poor to just over poor. If the cops killed afluent people the same, be them black or white or otherwise... Then it just wouldnt happen anymore. There would be real and substantive change. So, 'poor people matter' is what is most appropriate, or do they? Based on the evidence... Not very much.
