  1. Just 2 hours left to have your donations matched!
  2. Tomorrow is the last day to have your donations matched, please donate if you can! They're up to $9,299 on the donation page. Donate $50+ and get a limited print T-Shirt https://milegalize.nationbuilder.com/donate https://milegalize.nationbuilder.com/donate_get_t_shirt
  3. There's about 2 days left to get your donations matched dollar for dollar. There's a new perk in that if you donate $50+ you can get a T-Shirt https://milegalize.nationbuilder.com/donate_get_t_shirt Looks like they just kicked that off a couple days ago
  4. What does the website say about MiLegalize's donation level? In fact it's $9,124.00
  5. I'm excited to say that the donate page is now showing $8,914!
  6. So in the 4 days since I started this thread, a total of $364 have been donated. I think that's pretty good so far! I hope we can get another $636, because i'd love to hit the $1000 mark! Thank you again so much to everyone who has donated so far, and a big thanks to those planning to donate. If we can hit the $1k mark, that means we will have generated $2k total with the matching donations. thanks again
  7. I'd like to say thank you very much for donating Jester, I personally appreciate it greatly and I know MiLegalize does as well. Every bit helps and donors are still matching until the 25th of July.
  8. I touched base with them regarding this topic. The issue is that when it comes time for "the man" to review their finances and signatures and all of that, they will be greatly scrutinized. Any actions that appear to try and circumvent the rules could cause invalidation of donations (meaning they have to refund that money) or possibly cause the entire plan to be considered illegitimate! Obviously it would be awful for us to get through this entire process, and have someone get hung up on some silly technicality towards the end (because that's never happened before, right? lol) Here is the info from the mi.gov page regarding donations "Can I donate money to candidates? Yes, unless you fall into one of the prohibited groups; foreign national or casino supplier or licensee explained above. This is a very common type of participation in Michigan elections. Many individuals donate directly to candidates. Contributions may be made with cash up to $20.00, a check, money order, or credit card. There are limits on the amount of money that you can donate to a candidate in Michigan elections. The committee is the best source to find out how much you can contribute to their campaign. You will have to provide information to the committee. This includes your name and address. If you contribute over $100.00 to the committee you must also provide your employer information and occupation. The committee is required to report this information on a campaign statement. This information is accessible to the public." Again this is michigan law. I understand the hesitation due to this, but I personally decided the potential negative impact of MiLegalize losing this battle outweighed my own concerns. Any donations are greatly appreciated by MiLegalize, but I personally also appreciate them as well. I don't want to see what a monopoly style legalization looks like. I don't want law enforcement continuing to rake in huge money from cannabis. They've had their pay day, and it's time to end it. I want to see a small business friendly, infrastructure improving, education funding plan, that strengthens protections for patients who need it, protects those who enjoy it, and allow us to start a whole new farming industry with hemp legalization. Thanks again! I'm happy to try and answer any questions I can, and I'll try and reach out to MiLegalize if I don't know the answer.
  9. I've posed the question and will let you know when I get a response. Cheers
  10. For what it's worth, I'm sure they're inundated with questions and messages, perhaps yours was overlooked or not answered yet. I'll pose the question to them and see if I get a response.
  11. As promised, I just made my $50 donation. A little back story: I've been somewhat involved in politics for a while. I've always made sure to do my research and know information about a cause or candidate. I'm one of those people who spends a lot of time researching candidates, even for local elections, to make sure I agree the decisions I make. I'm also one of those people that will print my ballot the night before going in to vote, prefilled and ready to be copied down onto the official ballot. I also have NEVER donated any money to a cause or drive... until today. MiLegalize is he first political movement I've donated to EVER. THAT is how much I believe in it and want it to pass. I'm planning to make additional donations at least monthly. I know money is tight. I have a mortgage, animals, family, cars to maintain, etc etc. I understand if people can't just drop $50 on something, and I respect that. However, every dollar helps, and every dollar adds up, so even if you can only spare 5 bucks here and there, I'm sure it's appreciated. We cannot let MCC win this. It will drastically alter the landscape for cannabis in Michigan for DECADES. We all know that MCC will eliminate medical all together, eliminate homegrow or hobble it to make it not worth the investment, and allow the mi legislature to setup the tax rates. You know as well as I do if Mi Leg is allowed to set tax rates, we'll see taxes at 50% easily. This impacts us all, medical AND recreational, and that is why I personally have decided to make my first donation to a political cause ever. We need to protect our patients and our recreational users. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Thanks to all of you who have donated so far, and thanks in advance to those who are planning to donate. We can unite and destroy the republican money machine that is MCC. They have a set of big time donors, we have a nearly unlimited group of "normal" people to fight back with. Cheers
  12. Thank you so so much for donating! As promised I will make my $50 donation shortly as well. I'll update when I've done it
  13. Here's the info so far from MiLegalize: "Election law any donation over $20 must have a name and address... Over $100 we need employer info also" Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions and i'll see what I can do to help.
