  1. Full Article : November 11, 2015 MLive, Johnathan Oosting http://www.mlive.com/lansing-news/index.ssf/2015/11/michigan_cops_seek_changes_to.html ..... Article Paraphrased: Law enforcement groups proposed several changes to the medical marijuana bills: 1. If dispensaries are formally allowed, law enforcement groups would like the state to stop registering caregivers. Will need a 3/4 supermajority vote as required to amend a voter-approved law. 2. State police suggested adding language to prevent home deliveries and internet sales by dispensaries. Also add regulations for transporters such as bonding, the use of unmarked trucks or having at least two people in a vehicle at all time to ensure that marijuana is delivered in a safe and secure fashion. Design to avoid/eliminate the private delivery services. 3. Allow State Police, local Police and County Sheriff's to inspect medical marijuana facilities and registered caregivers anytime they want. 4. Law enforcement should have access to any database of licensees caregivers. 5. Allow Michigan State Police to develop roadside marijuana testing, including the use of oral swabs or new breath test technology. The recommendations from law enforcement groups are just that, recommendations. The Senate Judiciary is expected to continue testimony on the bills in December before making any changes or holding a vote. .....
  2. Safest play is 5 registered patients. That's it. Anything else could land you in court arguing your case. Local municipality means everything. Might stand a better chance arguing your case if you're in a municipality that allows for dispensing. Courts have a few more hurdles to convict if it knowning allows dispensing, down the street, a 100 times a day. Lawyers would have fun with that one and I imagine the courts what to stay far away from it. Way too political. Ann Arbor police are spectators during Hash Bash. Watching as edibles are sold openly to any passerby. Local law is 2 ozs or less from one party to another no card, no doctor recommendation = Civil Infraction = pay $25. Lansing has farmer markets where patient to patient, caregiver to patient and caregiver to caregiver transfers happen in the open with money being exchanged. Both municipalities would have a hard time enforcing anything of substance if you had dealings with clients other than your 5 patients. That said. I'm in no hurry to test their resolve.
  3. 5 patients. That's the State Law. Although .....On Feb. 8th 2014 or 2013 the State approved legislation directing local municipalities to enforce (or not) dispensing. In Ann Arbor the State doesn't interfere with the city ordinance. In AA patient to patient transfers of 2 ozs or less are considered a civil-infraction punishable by a $25 ticket (1st offense; 3 or more offenses $100 each). I know in Oakland County and other targeted cities law will be enforced to the maximum allowed under the state guidelines. Goes back to where you're at.
  4. If you're in Manchester Village then you have neighbors close. Smell will be an issue and enough to bring legal attention. When they show up they might not catch you in violation but by just showing up will bring attention to your grow. The added attention may very well mean more headaches for you. Not sure how you can control the smell in a GH unless you seal and filter/scrub it. Sealing a GH doesn't sound appealing.
  5. LARA's standard answer. 28 days is out of the norm but nothing to sweat, it happens. 21 days, give or take a week, seems to be the standard.
  6. Seems as though hemp farms would impact our indoor grows too. How many of us change our clothes or decontaminate outselves every time before entering our grow room? Decontaminate every instrument? How successful would you be with a hemp farm 8, 4, or even 1 mile away. What if a cannabis critic decided to put a mini-hemp farm in his 1/4 acre lot in the middle of the city, claiming he has rights too? How good will any indoor or outdoor crop do if your next door neighbor grew hemp? This is a tough issue. Both have rights but one completely negates the rights of another. I think this is why some communities pass ordinances like ...... within city limits there can be no chickens, no cattle and no Medical Cannabis grows. Seems like we are all victims of local law. How can it truly be any other way?
  7. Don't know if you're trying to be funny but that is exactly how I've heard that robberies go down.
  8. Sounds like the setup you are proposing is OK. Generally speaking, growing outside has additional risks. To avoid legal attention .... DON'T let your neighbors know. I've spoken at length to LAWNET and they will come visit you if they get a complaint from a neighbor or passer by, regardless of your legal standing. If you are 100% legal then the visit will be friendly. Another concern is being robbed. There are groups that drive around the country-side looking for setups like yours. If you're lucky they just take what you got outside. If you're unlucky they'll come in the home. Make sure you have security measures in place. Growing outside has it's risks.
